Job Description:

As an HVAC Technician at SYLIS Property Management, you will play a vital role in maintaining the comfort and functionality of our multifamily properties. Your primary responsibility will be diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and resident satisfaction. In addition to HVAC-specific tasks, you will assist with general property maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and appliance repairs, and conduct property inspections to address maintenance needs. You will work closely with the property management and maintenance teams to keep our properties safe, efficient, and well-maintained. Your technical expertise, strong work ethic, and attention to detail will directly enhance the quality of life for our residents and the operational success of our communities.

Key Responsibilities:
HVAC System Maintenance & Repairs

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, and ventilation units.
• Perform preventative maintenance, system installations, and seasonal servicing for optimal performance.
• Replace filters, clean coils, and ensure systems run efficiently, documenting all related activities.

Property Maintenance & Operations

• Assist with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repairs alongside HVAC work.
• Conduct property inspections, identify maintenance needs, and ensure safety standards are met.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory to support HVAC and general maintenance tasks.

Resident Support

• Respond to resident concerns professionally, ensuring HVAC issues are resolved promptly.
• Communicate clearly about repair timelines and system usage to enhance resident satisfaction.

Administrative Support

• Keep accurate records of inspections, repairs, and work orders in the property management system.
• Assist with inventory and ordering of HVAC parts and supplies, collaborating with vendors as needed.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with the maintenance team to prioritize tasks and achieve property goals.
• Support make-ready efforts for vacant units, ensuring HVAC systems are fully operational.

Emergency Maintenance

• Be available for after-hours calls to address HVAC and other urgent maintenance needs swiftly.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC certification or licensure preferred.
• Proven experience with HVAC systems in a multifamily or property maintenance setting.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance procedures.
• Ability to read technical manuals and blueprints, with familiarity in safety protocols.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and time management skills.
• Bilingual - Spanish Speaking a plus

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in varying weather conditions.
• Frequent standing, crouching, and use of tools and equipment in confined spaces.

Work Environment:

• Indoor and outdoor work, including extreme temperatures and exposure to hazardous materials.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and on-call hours as required.
