About the team

Metadata Generation Team in Prime Video uses AI and HITL workflows to source, synthesize, cleanse, and localize title display, discovery, time coded/playback, scene metadata, and compliance metadata that drives customer facing information and features such as Title Detail Pages, Storefront carousels, Binge-Watching Experiences (e.g., Skip-Intro), Ads breaks, Maturity Ratings, and Content descriptions. The systems, applications, and APIs that support this function operate at a large scale, must be highly available and work on increasingly diverse systems securely. We are looking for creative, deeply technical and hands-on Software Engineers to take the Metadata Generation architectures and systems we are building to the next level.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

- Experience with mission critical, 24x7 systems

- Experience with high throughput, multi-threaded systems

- Experience implementing and consuming large scale web service

- Fluency in programming languages beyond Java and C++ (e.g. Ruby, Python, Perl)

- Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent

- Proven large scale system design skills

- Strong working knowledge of operating system fundamentals

- Working knowledge of REST and RPC service patterns and other client/server interaction models

- Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role

- Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
