Your role and responsibilities

As a Financial Analyst, you will provide financial and control expertise to the Measurement and Analyses division "PAMA" in Quebec, benchmarking KPIs while working with other finance professionals to understand the drivers of financial performance, identifying trends relevant to the business. You will study business performance, including financial modelling to forecast the impacts and risks, and recommend areas for continuous improvement. This role will need to be able to work onsite in Quebec, QC to be able to collaborate daily with Plant Leadership. Your main activities in this role: • Leading the preparation of financial reporting, business planning, budgeting, and forecasting documents and presentations. • Ensuring alignment with Accounting Policy, Internal Controls, and Assurance, maintaining proper audit trails and documentation for future audits. • Reviewing and classify income and expenditures accurately and ensure compliance with ABB procedures in general accounting practices, budgets, and policies. • Analyzing and balance general ledger accounts, verify transactions and journal entries, prepare schedules, variance analyses, and reports for management review. • Assisting with period-end reports, minor cost accounting responsibilities, and special projects, including month-end activities like account analyses, reconciliations, and journal entry creation. • Optimizing performance to increase productivity by developing automated solutions, eliminating duplication, and coordinating information requirements.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business is highly preferred.
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in a cost accounting or factory financial analyst role.
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems and financial reporting software, including SAP, Oracle, or related financial systems.
  • Cost accounting experience required.
  • French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with other Microsoft Office products (BI, Tableau, etc.).
