Job Purpose

  • Provide advice and direction to Mechanical Supervisors in the maintenance and repair of static and rotating equipment at offshore facilities.
  • Control mechanical equipment inventory.
  • Maintain static and rotating equipment; recommend and implement upgrades of mechanical components as needed to meet operating objectives.
  • To work as Performing Authority signatory as per approved PTW Standard in assigned work area.


Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in the installation, commissioning and start-up of static and rotating mechanical equipment components.
  • Develop and implement the maintenance plan and preventive maintenance schedules using the CMMS for static and rotating mechanical equipment components.
  • Develop and implement the maintenance plan and preventive maintenance schedules using the CMMS for light and heavy vehicles
  • Advise mechanical supervisors in maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing static and rotating mechanical equipment.
  • Review reports on equipment failures and advise regarding solutions.
  • Review and evaluate mechanical equipment inventories to ensure spare parts availability, control inventory and order parts as needed.
  • Provide technical and operations input during site acceptance testing, commissioning and start-up of new mechanical equipment installations.
  • Recommend upgrades or other system improvements to meet operating objectives more efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Carry out all operating activities in accordance with company, local and international HSE rules and regulations.
  • Ensure that an approved Permit to Work is in place prior to beginning any work activities, and that all permit conditions are adhered to throughout the job.
  • Ensure compliance with policies regarding hazardous area classifications and equipment usage.
  • Ensure complete isolation of mechanical equipment before commencing maintenance and repair work.


Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Experience with engine and pump overhauling; good knowledge of mechanical systems commissioning and systems failure analysis.
