PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Materials Coordinator will provide coordination for Spare parts Management.
- Inventory Planning and Optimization including Stock Level Management to determine optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing carrying costs.
- Set reorder points and maximum stock levels based on lead times and demand forecasts to trigger timely replenishments.
- Place purchase requisitions (PRs) based on end user demand and inventory policies.
- Regularly monitor stock levels to ensure they align with planned targets.
- Implement cycle counting processes to maintain inventory accuracy and reduce discrepancies.
- Recognize and address slow-moving or obsolete inventory, taking steps to reduce or eliminate excess stock.
- Inventory Reporting and Analysis which includes generate and distribute regular inventory reports to stakeholders, providing insights into inventory status and recommendations for improvements.
- System and Process Improvement.
- Continuously review and improve inventory planning and management processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure that inventory data is accurate and up-to-date, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration through working closely with procurement, maintenance, operations, and finance teams to align inventory strategies with broader company goals.
- Communicate inventory plans, risks, and issues to key stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for inventory decisions.
- Ensure inventory practices comply with industry regulations, including those related to safety, environmental impact, and reporting.
- Quickly address any issues related to material availability, quality, or delivery, coordinating with procurement, maintenance teams, and other stakeholders to find timely solutions.
- Understanding of Material Classes and Attributes.
- Understanding of Bill Of Materials (BOMs), able to identify materials required for BOMs for specific equipment types.
SKILLS
- Extensive skills in computerized material master and stock control systems (SAP) are required.
- Must have a broad computer knowledge, which includes proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Successful completion of bachelor’s degree as a minimum.
- Excellent verbal and written English skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Average level of mechanical aptitude as a minimum.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in power / chemical / refinery / gas plant maintenance / inspection / engineering.
- 5+ years previous material management experience
