R&D Global Unit Lead

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the sales organization, channel partners and customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions. Each day, you will serve as a key technical resource on our complete robot mechanics portfolio. You will also showcase your expertise by preparing technical descriptions for the applied products and technology and giving online and onsite course. The work model for the role is: onsite. This role is contributing to the Codian Robotics BV unit in Ede. Main stakeholders are the worldwide sales organization of our mother company B&R and the channel partners that resell our products. Codian Robotics BV is The Leading Innovator for Pick & Place robots. We are a part of B&R, part of the ABB group, a global leader in industrial robotics and automation. At Codian Robotics we develop and manufacture industrial robot mechanics that are sold all over the world. We are a flexible, innovative, ambitious and growing company. Currently we are expanding our team and are looking for an enthusiastic mechanical, mechatronic or robotics engineer who enjoys the contact with customers, sales colleagues and channel partners all over the world. You will be mainly accountable for: • Offering technical advice and providing comment on enquiry specifications for customers/channel partners/Sales Engineers regarding the Codian robot mechanics portfolio. • Providing technical support during technical meetings, product presentations, and negotiations. • Performing analytics and diagnostic studies to determine the most suitable technical solution to meet the customer needs; and proposing the most suitable technical solutions for complex enquiries. • Delivering product/solution/service-related training. Reporting to the Team Lead RnD, you will be executing technical support in order to meet the requirements of customer requests. Qualifications for the role

  • Engineering degree (bachelor, HBO) or considerable experience in the field of mechanical engineering, robotics or mechatronic engineering.
  • You have experience in or affinity with the Machine building or Robotics industry.
  • A solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills, in both Dutch and English.
  • You have good computer skills and affinity with programming is appreciated.
  • You are open, communicative and positive.
  • You are willing to travel internationally to meet customers on-site and educate sales colleagues.
