Technip Energies and their partners was awarded an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for the worlds first commercial scale gas-fired power station with carbon capture. The construction site is located in the Tees Valley in the North-East of England.
Job Purpose
We are seeking a Construction Manager to oversee the field construction on the NZT project, the worlds first commercial-scale gas-fired power station with carbon capture. The Construction Manager will be responsible for managing all construction activities within their scope and supervising all associated works performed by TEN's subcontractors.
Main Accountabilities
- Monitor and ensure that all Subcontractors are performing according to contractual obligations and mobilizing resources according to the construction schedule needs.
- Manage and monitor the correct implementation of the construction quality system during the construction phase.
- Monitor the availability of materials in a timely manner to support construction planning and manage materials handed over and stored by the Subcontractor.
- Ensure that all construction activities are executed and coordinated according to project strategies/plans, and that scheduled targets are achieved.
- Assess and validate weekly progress in field construction.
- Ensure effective safety and environmental coordination and cooperation between Contractor and Subcontractor/Suppliers.
- Liaise with field staff on construction engineering matters.
Requirements
- Professional Background: Experienced profile in Construction Management, ideally in the construction of similar projects.
- Technical Acumen: Ability to quickly immerse yourself in technical and complex subjects and organizations.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and cultures.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication knowledge/experience and English writing skills.
- Personal Attributes: Creative and curious mind, enjoy teamwork, and have a strong sense of service, quality, and confidentiality. Rigorous, proactive, and enjoy learning and finding solutions to new situations.
- Work Environment: Willingness to work in an international environment and complex organizations.
