Summary:
The person in this position will work on a variety of environmental consulting projects to support a fast-paced, industrial client base with an initial emphasis on the oil and gas industry. The position requires strong problem-solving ability and communication skills to develop solutions to meet client objectives, primarily for air program regulatory requirements.
Projects may include compliance assistance, staff assistance at client offices, data entry in regulatory and emissions tracking systems, regulatory and technical analysis, solution development, report writing, regulatory negotiations, and working in the oil and gas industry for a long-term assignment. In fulfilling these duties, the position will interface with internal project teams, industry representatives, and regulatory staff.
Key job activities may include mass balance calculations, emission inventories, evaluation and troubleshooting of new or existing systems, air quality permit applications and related documents, and providing regulatory assistance.
On-site client support opportunities may require out-of-town travel. To be considered for this position, you must submit a resume and a cover letter.

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $65,000-$80,000/year. Compensation will vary based on experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus. Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical or environmental engineering or a related engineering or science degree
- Internship or post-college professional experience in industry, an environmental agency, or environmental consulting
- Intrinsic motivation with an emphasis on client service and interest in growing a career in environmental consulting
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members, regulators, and clients
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills including attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong computer skills including the use of spreadsheets
- Willingness to travel and periodically adjust personal schedule to meet project needs
- Possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of post-college professional experience in industry, an environmental agency, or environmental consulting
- Experience working with regulations and environmental permitting
- High level of proficiency working in data systems and analyzing large sets of data
- Experience working with regulations and environmental permitting
- Project or task management skills
- Demonstrated effectiveness in building working relationships across multi-dimensional teams
- Aptitude for developing client relationships and business opportunities
