Lead Nuclear Engineer
Radiant
Radiant Industries is an El Segundo, CA-based startup developing Kaleidos, a portable, containerized nuclear microreactor. Portable nuclear power with rapid deploy capability can replace diesel generators used today to provide critical asset support for hospitals, datacenters, and military bases or to power microgrids at remote sites. Radiant's unique, practical approach to nuclear development utilizes modern software engineering to rapidly achieve safe, factory-constructable microreactors leveraging existing, well-qualified materials. Radiant is on a fast track to demonstrate the first fueled operation of a new commercial nuclear reactor design, just two years from now.

Radiant seeks a technical and people-oriented leader for our nuclear design and analysis group focused on thermal-fluidics, instrumentation and controls, shielding, and reactor operations. You will lead a high-performing team through the design, development, and test stages of the Kaleidos microreactor. You will own the schedule, budget, hiring, and execution of nuclear-related milestones with a key focus on safety, reliability, portability, and performance. The ideal candidate is comfortable in interdisciplinary environments working cross-functionally with engineers and leadership, has tenacious creative problem-solving abilities and keen to get to the solution of a problem, and loves to mentor and motivate engineers to deliver their best work.
