Job Summary

The Commercial Marketing and Sales Analyst will be responsible for driving sales to closure, identifying new business opportunities to clients, conducting market research and providing robust data analyses to support strategic plans and opportunity assessment. Additionally, the incumbent will quality leads and foster relationships with current and potential customers.

This position is located in Columbus, OH and is hybrid.

Responsibilities

  • Sales (30%)
    • Drives the sales process from lead generation to deal closure.
    • Achieves quarterly quotas and goals set by SVP, Commercial Marketing and Sales.

  • Prospect/Opportunity Identification (20%)
    • Identifies new business opportunities that align with Battelle's goals.
    • Analyzes client needs; develops an understanding of their business requirements and what their challenges are.
    • Communicates the value proposition of Battelle products, services, and solutions to external current and potential clients.
    • Fosters robust relationships with existing and potential clients.
    • Maintains and expands prospects within assigned businesses by following up on warm leads. Researches accounts, identify key players and generates interest.
    • Qualify leads and pursues the opportunity. Routes more complex leads and opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure.

  • Research, Business Plans (20%)
    • Conducts thorough market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
    • Develops and implements strategic business development plans to achieve Battelle's sales objectives.

  • Proposals and Data Analysis (15%)
    • Develops and presents persuasive proposals and presentations that demonstrate the value of the Battelle product(s).
    • Tracks win:loss metrics and insights; develops and tracks KPI's and insights; oversees CRM client data; develops, analyzes, and creates reports of metrics, KPI's and insights, along with recommendations and trend analysis for management. Use of PowerBI will be critical.

  • Sales Calls & Emails Sales, Channel Partners (15%)
    • Sources new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up, outbound cold calls and emails.
    • Contact clients and pitch; can be over the phone, email or any other communication tools.
    • Team with channel partners, or partners to go to market with, to build pipeline and close deals.

Key Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or engineering, business, marketing, or economics; three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or related experience.
  • Experience in a sales and/or marketing capacity, including experience with data analysis and proposal development.
  • Experience with corporate productivity and web presentation tools.
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Track record of over-achieving quota.
