Mountain Engineering is seeking experienced candidates to support PG&E's Gas, Transmission, Routine and Wood Management Vegetation Programs. The Database Management Specialist (DMS) will be responsible for working with PG&E staff as well as other stakeholders to produce products derived from an array of databases and software programs.

Role & Responsibilities
  • A DMS is responsible for managing the VMD (Vegetation Management Database) used with PG&E's Vegetation Management program including receiving downloads of data from field personnel, transferring data in various computer programs, generating, and closing out Work Requests, creating pre-load files, tracking refusals and EC notifications/cases, trouble- shooting the database, printing reports, copying, distributing data, filing reports and performing analyses.
  • The DMS must be able to effectively communicate procedures for use of hand-held devices to field personnel, resolve user problems, maintain VMDSR as directed by the PG&E Representative, maintain an area equipment inventory, and facilitate the completion of timely and accurate reports.
  • The DMS must also assure project folders are complete and include all necessary records for the project before they are archived.
  • The DMS shall perform other Work as directed by the SVMI or the PG&E Representative.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • A DMS shall have a minimum of two (2) years' experience working with computers, office equipment and data entry equipment.

Physical Demands

Sitting for long periods of time working at the computer. Travel may be required.

Work Environment
