Your role and responsibilities
Join our team as a Category Manager (f/m/d) at Busch-Jaeger Elektro GmbH and drive strategic supplier management for metal materials and products! Shape key decisions, lead contract negotiations, and ensure top-quality supply. Be at the forefront of cost optimization and innovation, while contributing to sustainability efforts. Seize this opportunity to make a lasting impact! • Strategic category and supplier management for metal raw materials and products (stripes, springs, screws, stamping components) • Lead supply chain management, supplier selection, contract design, ensuring quality and legal compliance • Conduct contract negotiations based on ABB's Sourcing Frame Agreement (covering quantity, pricing, delivery terms, liabilities) • Oversee material cost through the entire lifecycle, focusing on KPIs like on-time delivery, quality, and supplier performance • Ensure compliance with legal regulations, ABB's General Terms & Conditions, and internal guidelines • Provide strategic and operational support for new product launches, discontinuations, and collaborate with the ABB ELSB Global Category Management Team (Electrification Smart Buildings) • Implement cost reduction strategies through design to cost, cost-out projects, and RFQ process evaluations, while supporting sustainability goals

Qualifications for the role
- Completed studies in the field of business administration, (industrial) engineering, alternatively a specialized vocational training with relevant experience and additional qualifications
- More than 5 years of experience in procurement, working as strategic category or project buyer for metals and metal components
- Business fluent in written and spoken German and English
- Experience in the international metal's category/commodity costing fundamentals. Knowing LME, Hedging etc.
- Experience in the international product development and purchasing process in a matrix organization bringing strong negotiation skills and good knowledge of contract design and legal essentials
- Innovative, conceptual, analytical and entrepreneurial thinking / acting and team player with initiative and assertiveness
- Flexibility and willingness to travel national and internationally (10% - 20%)
