This position reports to

Country Holding Officer & Functionally to Global EL Head of Trade Management

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure that local businesses in assigned areas conduct their activities in line with ABB trade policies and guidelines and to implement ABB's Global Trade Program. Each day, you will be responsible to drive the development of trade related capabilities in the local business organizations, that way ensuring compliance with import/export-related trade regulations of the aggregate local business. You will also showcase your expertise by creating, documenting, and maintaining procedures and guidelines for export control and sanctions, as well as customs compliance requirements. The work model for the role is: onsite/hybrid. You will be mainly accountable for: • Driving the local implementation of ABB's Global Trade Program and providing relevant stakeholders with periodic updates on the status of the implementation and of significant changes in sanctions, export control and customs laws/regulations. • Implementing and maintaining a general export control and customs compliance awareness program for local business staff and providing trade-related training to employees (particularly in cases of delegated export control responsibilities). • Facilitating seamless connection between trade compliance and day-to-day operations in the local business, including master data requirements, supplier qualifications, etc., in collaboration with staff in the assigned area. • Conducting local trade reviews and/or annual "self-audits" with respect to trade compliance, identifying improvement areas, and collaborating with the business to ensure corrective actions are implemented. Reporting on gaps and remediations to the Country Trade Compliance Council. You will join a dynamic, talented, high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor/Master of Laws, International Trade or Logistics is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with business processes and a good understanding of end-to-end supply chain process, risk management and logistics
  • Possess an enhanced knowledge of export control and customs rules and regulations
  • Sufficient seniority to effectively communicate across all levels of the local business
  • You have business mind-set, responsiveness, ownership, self-driven, willingness to explore and learn
  • You are at ease communicating in English and Bulgarian
  • Clear driving license
