JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood has an opportunity for an experienced Lead/Principal Offshore Structural Engineer (Temporary) that has previous experience of working across feasibility studies through detailed engineering projects. This is an opportunity for you to become a valuable, well-rounded of an experienced team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The WORK includes, but is not limited to the following:
  • Develop & Prepare Structural Basis of Design and Standard Detailed Drawings
  • Prepare Specifications for offshore structural engineering
  • Perform Technical clarification (TC)
  • Perform Offshore Site survey and prepare site survey report
  • Carry out feasibility study through detailed engineering - including all phases of work from engineering in-service & pre-service (greenfield & brownfield modification)
  • Prepare structural calculation, weight change/control report & drawings for offshore modification, demolition, installation sequence, and commissioning of all related structural work
  • Conduct a Constructability Review & Installation Sequence
  • Prepare Installation sequence & method statement for demolition & installation - including preparation of drawings related to the construction completion (e.g. scaffolding plan, lifting plan, crane radius, barge location, transfer material & equipment routing, etc.)
  • Offshore structural system & joint connections - shall be designed in accordance with project specifications & customer requirements (e.g. PTTEP, Chevron, etc.,) and shall be reliable, maintainability, safe, and constructability in brownfield areas.
  • Prepare MTO report
  • Develop and verify computer models and update load, as-built data, and analysis as per the provided metocean data, weight, and future weight, etc.,
  • In case that Customer/Client will not provide the native files of existing offshore structural, SACS models, structural analysis reports, and WCR reports - BUT only provide Non-Rely Upon drawings, layout, plot plan, metocean data and incomplete weight information. The APPLICANT shall be able to propose/create data & SACS models using APPLICANT's own record & knowledge and expertise
  • Review the project execution schedule developed by the Cost and Planning Department and to develop the detailed schedule for Civil Engineering and Design activities
  • Responsible for administration and immediate direction of civil engineering and designers on a project. Participate in design and checking work as required
  • Ensure that the quality of design calculations and drawings produced for enquiry and construction purposes on projects where he is assigned are of the specified standard
  • Liaise with the Project Engineer regarding information required by the Design Engineers and CAD Group. Liaise with other Groups and Client as necessary
  • Check and ensure the operation of the team to ensure work satisfies the project requirements, Company Health, Safety, Environmental, Security and Quality Policy
  • Carry out training in the form of a number of short presentations to facilitate specialist skills transfer


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Offshore Structural engineering
  • Direct experience at least 15 years in Offshore Structural Engineering for Oil and Gas Industry - including minimum 8 years as Senior Offshore Structural Engineer and minimum 5 years on the Lead roles
  • Have highly experience in - feasibility study through detailed design for offshore structures, offshore execution/installation for brownfield projects, preparation of method statement for demolition & installation and lifting, and providing technical clarification
  • Familiar & worked on or having survey experience on the current offshore platforms in Thailand - is preferred
  • Expertise in SACS software for offshore structural design and analysis for local and global of in-service and pre-service analysis.
  • Be able to perform offshore special engineering work, for example, offshore vibration, spectrum fatigue, blast, helideck, FSO, etc.,
  • Capable to meet requirement in main scope of work, for example, check drawing, interface with other parties, work pack, constructability, pre-service, MTO, WCR, detailed engineering package, PEER review workshop, etc.,
  • Be able to prepare and deliver technical clarification, and technical bid evaluation
  • Be able to prepare material take off within project timeline
  • Be able to prepare scope of work for construction
  • Be able to provide technical / engineering support upon request during fabrication and construction phases of the projects.
  • APPLICANT shall be a high experience in offshore structural engineering (covering Thailand & Sout East Asian region)
  • Knowledgeable and familiar with the design codes and standards and regulatory requirements - including constructability for Offshore Engineering works
  • Excellent knowledge of Thai & International design safety requirements, SSHE Laws and techniques - is a MUST
  • Hold professional license required for design & certify for Offshore Structural Engineering works
  • Hold certificate(s) required for performing survey(s) for Offshore Engineering works (e.g. BOSIET , SHV certificate, etc)
  • Able to work under pressure & deliver the required work in a timely manner
  • Have a team approach to engineering and liaise well with colleagues. Have an effective communication, good interpersonal skill, and service mind
  • Have a good analytical and decision-making skills & able to handle a difficult situation due to limitation of information
  • Capable of leading the affiliated office team , or team who working remotely
  • Fluent in English language, competent in computer skills, and have a proactive work ethic
