This position reports to

Local Division Manager

Your role and responsibilities

Mission As a Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for the sales of products/systems/services with a designated market in accordance with division strategy. Cultivate, create long term customer relationships to comply customer technical and commercial expectations. Identify and develop sales opportunities. Reporting to the Local Division Manager, you will be responsible for efficiently managing all aspects of direct and indirect sales activities to exceed the customer's and division's expectations, to ensure company is represented professionally, ethically, with high code of conduct. Role Fully accountable for driving service sales targets, by providing cost effective solutions to the customers and initiating improvement plans as needed - Plan and implement sales activity within designated market to approach existing and new customer to receive queries and proactively approach new account to do market recognition activity. Target equipment, includes but not limited to switchboards, transformers, generators, motors & drives and automation systems. - Responsible for achieving annual budget targets (Order Received, Revenue and Profitability) and assist global team to award the project out of Japan with Japanese owners. - Plan and execute all tasks starting from preparing technical presentations, receiving inquires to make a proposal, receiving order, assisting project execution. - Coordinate with global team to present technical solution to comply customers' expectations. - Coordinate with ship owner located in Japan to influence ABB's technical expertise being preferred vendor of the project. - Establish and maintain effective customer relationships by providing swift responses, proper follow-up with global team on customers' requests, including commercial & technical queries. - Communicates with customers of ABB commercial proposals (e.g. delivery time, payments, and general terms and conditions etc.)

Qualifications for the role

  • Degree qualifications: Bachelor degree in Engineering (preferably electrical background)
  • Minimum of 5 years or more experience in managing or providing electric equipment & systems (preferably marine industries)
  • Preferably with experience in front end sales with extensive knowledge of ship new building project and/or land basis power grid infrastructures
  • Time management, co-ordination, accuracy, attention to detail and performing in a pressure environment are necessary
  • Business minded and result focused with good interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Native level of Japanese language with good command of English
  • Ability and willingness to travel both domestic and international up to 50% if required
