One of our major clients is seeking an External Alarm Rationalization Facilitator to work in a 6-month W2 contract (subject to extension) in their facilities in Borger, TX
Position Overview:
The External Alarm Rationalization Facilitator will be responsible for completing necessary alarm rationalizations for designated units within the Borger Refinery. This position will focus on aligning all work to the ISA 18.2 standards for alarm management. The facilitator will coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders, ensuring proper documentation and development of information to support ongoing automation efforts.

The External Alarm Rationalization Facilitator will be responsible for completing necessary alarm rationalizations for designated units within the Borger Refinery. This position will focus on aligning all work to the ISA 18.2 standards for alarm management. The facilitator will coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders, ensuring proper documentation and development of information to support ongoing automation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate alarm rationalization meetings, ensuring compliance with ISA 18.2 requirements.
- Collect and review all necessary P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) to support the alarm rationalization process.
- Document and develop information that can be efficiently imported into the existing system used by the Automation Team.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings with relevant stakeholders, including cross-functional teams impacted by the alarm management system.
- Ensure all deliverables meet the required format for system integration, working closely with the Automation Team to implement the rationalized alarms.
Job Requirements:
- Experience:
- 2 to 5 years of experience leading and documenting alarm rationalization efforts.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in process control, process management, or as a site alarm champion, or in an alarm management role.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong familiarity with ISA 18.2 standards for alarm management.
- Expertise in collecting, developing, and documenting alarm management data.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and facilitate discussions that lead to effective decision-making.
