Your role and responsibilities
As an intern in the Project Execution department, you will gain hands-on experience and develop your technical and managerial skills through various exciting projects. Working closely with experienced professionals, you will support ABB's operations and contribute to the successful delivery of industrial automation projects. The role is onsite in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and no relocation assistance will be provided. Candidates must manage their own commuting arrangements. The role is contributing to Process Automation Business Area, based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The work model for this role (onsite) Job Type: Part-Time Traineeship You will be primarily responsible for: • Applying basic electrical engineering concepts in the design and execution of projects, including electrical circuits, systems, power distribution, and automation technologies. • Collaborating with various teams to ensure compliance with industry standards such as IEEE, IEC, and local electrical regulations. • Supporting electrical design efforts using software tools like AutoCAD Electrical, ensuring accurate design and simulation. • Assisting in the integration of technical designs with project timelines, budgets, and resource management. • Coordinating with vendors and suppliers to manage electrical equipment procurement and ensure timely project execution. • Ensuring safety and compliance with electrical safety regulations and hazardous area classifications. • Documenting project processes, creating technical reports, and updating project documentation according to industry standards. Qualifications for the role
- Currently enrolled in the 3rd year of a bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits, systems, and automation technologies.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as IEEE, IEC, or local electrical codes.
- Experience or coursework with electrical design software like AutoCAD Electrical.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work within project timelines.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and communicate effectively.
- Commitment to learning and applying safety regulations in engineering projects.
- Fluent in English, optional Kazakh / Russian.
