Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to develop, implement and maintain methods and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Using your technical expertise, you will estimate manufacturing cost, determine time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. You will add value and expertise to the business by sustaining support by identifying cost reduction and yield improvement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical direction for manufacturing issues and support their root cause / corrective action
• Deliver year over year productivity improvements in CNC Machining, Mech Assembly and Precision Stainless Fabrication by optimizing existing processes and implementing new technology focused on automation.
• 100% responsible for first stage EOL component validation and recommendations to design Engineering team
• Qualify/Disqualify production parts and provide approvals of various stages in defect management tracking system
• Provide feedback to Sourcing / Supplier Quality about non conformed production parts in order to reduce scrap / Cost of poor Quality (COPQ)
• Support the development of standard work towards best practice (cycle time, cost and quality)
• Works close knit with cross functional teams such as Engineering, Sourcing & Manufacturing during New Product Introduction (NPI)
• Support the NPI process to represent manufacturing / Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) and provide the necessary stage gate approvals on behalf of ISC (Integrated supply chain).
• Direct Lead role in change management process and governance for design change notifications (ECO) implementation.
• Support Honeywell Operating System (HOS) and other Lean / 6 Sigma Initiatives
• Develop and Mature functional product checklist and test plans
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or similar field
• Must graduate in December 2025 or later.
• Must continue enrollment in degree program upon completion of the internship
WE VALUE
• An expert in at least one of these 3 key disciplines: CNC Machining, Precisions Stainless steel Fabrication or Precision tolerance electromechanical Assembly (Robotics, electro/harmonic actuators or general machinery building (Small to medium size)
• CNC programming CAD/CAM and Gcode (Mastercam, Espri, GibbsCam, Catia, Fusion 360) machining environment
• LabVIEW , C++, Excel macros and VB script.
• Demonstrated experience with manufacturing process design, Cell startup and optimization.
• Expert level interpreting engineering drawings and schematics
• Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively while managing multiple competing projects
• Experience working with CAD (AutoCAD / Inventor / Solid Works, Fusion 360)
• Must have strong English communication skills both verbal and written
• Hands on demonstrated production experience with various precision measuring instruments (Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, go-no go gauges, Oscilloscopes, DVM's & functional text fixtures for PCBA)
• Technician & Troubleshooting level of Electronics and Electrical circuits. 5VDC, 24VDC, 120/240VAC
• Intermediate level Microsoft Excel proficiency (Vlookup, pivot tables)
