OBJECTIVES OF JOB
The Construction Engineer is responsible for on site supervision of small various projects, tasks, plant modifications activities in the existing facilities to ensure the activities are executed as per the work scope and in adherence to the HSE standards.
The Construction Engineer can be requested to provide supervisory assistance to major projects normally under the control of the field projects and construction coordinator.
For the preparation of the daily activities, he maintains close contact with the contractor and/or staff involved in the construction activities. After completion of works the Construction Engineer must ensure that all relevant documentation (e.g. P&ID, PFD, E&I drawings, etc) will be updated.
In the preparation phase of new various projects, the Construction Engineer will provide input to the work scope and planning of the activity and prepare material requisitions.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervising all kinds of field construction activities in both area A91 and A107.
- Executing all activities on a “right first-time” basis. And ensure that all small project’s/tasks needs/requirements are met as activities evolve.
- Monitoring project’s/field activities progress and handle any issues that arise and communicate project status to line manager.
- Ensuring activities are completed as per the agreed work scope and required modifications are identifying in a timely manner, controlling changes in work scope closely with regards to additional cost and effects.
- Ensuring construction activities conform to relevant international standards i.e. ASME, API.
- Liaising with on-site Third-Party Inspection for co-ordination of NDT / Inspection requirements
- Ensuring activities are conducted and completed in accordance with the companies HSE policies.
- Maintaining daily activity logs for small projects and issuing a close out statement after completion
- Preparing Work Permits as required for each activity as per the Permit to Work system.
- Acting as Performing Authority and ensuring toolbox talks are always completed for each critical work activity and all precautions adhered to.
- Actively promoting a safe work environment and good standards of housekeeping
- Providing input and support to the development of National Staff
- Revieing activities on a continuous basis and identify possibilities for improvement and application of new technologies.
- Maintaining good communicating with all relevant departments and contractors.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Competencies
o Proven work experience as a Construction Engineer or similar role.
o Experience in project management, in implementation phase.
o Able to perform multitasking and time-management.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- 10 years of related experience in oil and gas fields
- BSc Engineering / Business Administration.
- 5+ years of experience in supervising construction teams
- Work experience in live plants and hazardous areas
- Good communication skills to work with multinational work force
- Good knowledge of international standards
