Our client is seeking an Operations First Line Supervisor II to work in Midland, TX for an initial 12-month assignment, likely to extend!
MAIN FUNCTIONS

MAIN FUNCTIONS
- Supervises personnel, may include coordination of contractors, to deliver safe, reliable and profitable operations in assigned operating units (fields, plants, manufacturing, terminaling, pipelines, warehousing, offices, etc.).
- Demonstrates applicable Operations and Maintenance skills appropriate to job position.
- Demonstrates leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups.
- Typical Job Positions may include:Production Supervisor, Operations Supervisor, Lubricants Production Supervisor, Tenant Services Supervisor, Transportation Supervisor, Residential Supervisor, Field Supervisor, Pipeline Field Operations Supervisor.
- Supervises the day-to-day activities in the production facility.
- Maintains a safe and productive workplace through established standards/procedures.
- Manages and directs the work of others.
- Accomplishes production facility human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining workers.
- Meets operational standards by contributing production information to strategic plans and reviews, resolving problems, and identifying system improvements.
- Works with moderate work direction and is skilled and knowledgeable to the position.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to all Level 1 tasks and responsibilities, Level 2:
- Provide HSE leadership to the Team.
- Involvement in the formation and then the implementation of the team succession plan.
- Assist in the building and then implementing processes that will ensure Continuous Improvement
- Liaising with the Onshore support team to ensure platform performance contract is achieved.
- Be familiar with new build Certification and System Handover processes, i.e. GOC, whilst maintaining correct system Integrity Management standards.
- Take a major role in setting up systems, examples would be operating manuals and procedures.
- Provide input into HAZIDs and HAZOPs.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Behavioral Skills: effective communication, courage of conviction, sound decision-making, risk management
- Functional Skills: SSHE management - operations and maintenance, managing critical operations, operations - specific technology and unit or are, console knowledge - general and specific unit, process planning and mechanical coordination, operations planning/improvement, managing critical maintenance activities, maintenance scheduling, maintenance management
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering within discipline or equivalent professional experience
- Previous experience in a closely related position
- Broad knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
- Proven coaching skills with a track record of coaching and developing technicians.
- Ability to identify Plant Integrity issues and lead CI Teams to resolution.
- Experience working with different cultures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs
- Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications
