Position Purpose

As a Distribution Team Member, you will be responsible for all functions relating to the safe, environmentally sound loading, unloading, and shipping of rail cars / trucks which meets or exceeds Shell, industry and government standards. Also, you will be the field execution lead for all rail and loading activities on shift.

Accountabilities:
  • Responsible to deliver the Production Plan and identify constraints to meeting plan
  • You will develop plans to remove constraints and escalate when help is required
  • Execute loading/off-loading of rail cars site wide, refinery, chemicals, Sulphur and Truck loading, and rail yard car movements in a Safe and environmentally responsible manner
  • Ensures all training requirements are up to date
  • Adheres to compliance with license to Operate an Industrial Railway and compliance in the Distribution area
  • Ensure IROR training is current and manage recertification's
  • You will be responsible for Environmental compliance and reporting and issuing of safe work permits
  • Review executed procedures for units and have procedures updated as needed to keep evergreen
  • Executes work priorities and plans assigned by the Distribution Area Team Lead to ensure loading/unloading and shipping schedules are maintained
  • Coaching and mentoring of Distribution Contractors is an expected activity in order to develop the site Distribution skill pool
  • Completes audits as Identified in JCP
  • You will assist in equipment isolation (lock out tag out procedures) following shells Safe Work Instruction. Also, you will be accountable to assure that safe work isolation is being followed when completed by contract work force
  • May be required to fill a reserve worker role

Requirements:
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • You must have a minimum 1-year operational experience in Manufacturing industry, Preferably in Loading Department
  • Preferred Candidate would possess a fourth-class power engineering certificate, or willing to obtain
  • Previous experience in rail car and truck loading/offloading is an asset
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Shell HSSE regulations, policies and procedures, goal Zero mindset
  • Knowledgeable of Emergency Response protocols would be advantageous
  • Understanding of Production policies and procedures
  • Good Written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and in a team environment
  • Ability to define issues, collect data and draw valid conclusions
  • Possess basic computer skills, i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to interact effectively within the organization
  • Knowledge of Scotford Work Process
