Your role and responsibilities

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES CORE RESPONSIBILITIES • Monitors daily import/export shipments and ensures smooth customs clearance via the appointed customs brokers. • Acts as point of contact for customs brokers in case of clarification needs (e.g., regarding valuation or classification of products). • Understands and applies relevant customs procedures and ensures the relevant declarations are correctly made. • Audits customs brokers regarding the correctness of customs entries, invoicing, and archiving. • Ensures all customs-related records are maintained and archived correctly. • Provides reporting as required on day-to-day activities. • Manages the necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost-effective, and lawful execution of all import/export activities. • Maintains and shares with colleagues, as appropriate, personal knowledge of all relevant import/export laws and procedures, tariffs, duties, licenses, and restrictions in close cooperation with local and country Trade Compliance Officers. • Communicates with export- and import-related authorities and suppliers, as necessary, to ensure efficient execution. • Maintains relevant data in the local trade and customs applications (e.g., SAP Global Trade Services). • Facilitates continuous review and improvement in the operational transport and trade/customs activities. • Supervises customs broker's daily performance and cost, taking action to ensure compliance with associated Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). • Supports the development and implementation of improved processes and systems and maintains master data. COLLABORATION / LEADERSHIP • Ensures adherence to the collaboration objectives of the team to maximize results for ABB. • Leads their own development journey by seeking knowledge and learning opportunities within the team. • Manages relationships with stakeholders in their own area of responsibility and ensures alignment.
