We are seeking a Nuclear and Propulsion Systems Analyst
This is an on-site role in Newport News, VA.
The Nuclear and Propulsion Systems Analyst will provide operational and maintenance support to the Carrier Engineering Team and PEO aircraft carriers in support of the CVN 68 Class aircraft carriers refueling and complex overhaul (RCOH). This position will be co-located with the SUPSHIP-NN RCOH project team.
Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Provide Planning and Execution support to Reactor Department and associated Production Teams for the Ship's Force Work Package (SFWP) and work integration.
• Be knowledgeable in NIMITZ Class propulsion mechanical and electrical systems.
• Provide Planning and Execution support to meet applicable Key Events (KE).
• Track and provide metrics for the Ship's Force Material Condition Assessment Program (MCAP) discrepancy status and burn-down rates to support all KE/MS Readiness.
• Monitor divisional man-hours available versus man-hours remaining to ensure work remaining can be accomplished by Ship's Force within the timeframe of the Availability.
• Aid in screening of work and in particular MCAP discrepancies
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 10 years relevant professional experience
• 8+ years of relevant experience with aircraft carrier maintenance and operations
• Must have experience with shipboard preventative & corrective maintenance
• Must have experience with nuclear power and propulsion
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• Project /Program Management experience
• Former US Navy Chief Petty Officer, Chief Warrant Officer, or Limited Duty Officer
• Prior nuclear machinist mate / mechanic experience
Security Clearance:
• Must have an active U.S. government secret security clearance and U.S. Citizenship
