The Offshore Heavy Lifting business unit of Boskalis is active in both the offshore wind and in the oil and gas installation and decommissioning markets. With a focus on offshore wind we solve challenges in transport and installation of offshore wind farm foundations that are related to their harsh environmental conditions, heterogeneous soil profiles and scheduling risks. As the SHEQ Manager, your role is pivotal in championing and guiding the continuous improvement journey, all while aligning closely with the strategic interests of Offshore Heavy Lift business unit.

You will serve as facilitator and ambassador for NINA (No Injuries, No Accidents) and WoW (Boskalis' Way of Working), positioning yourself as a vital consultative partner to the business. Your expertise will be called upon for guidance across SHEQ.

Understanding that behavioral change is a gradual process, you will bring an exceptional blend of creativity, empathy to inspire and sustain commitment across the team. Your remit extends beyond project-specific workscopes, encompassing significant opportunities for optimization, integration, and the solidification of policies and processes at both the business unit and divisional levels.

The Business Unit Offshore Heavy Lift (OHL) within the Boskalis Offshore division is a platform for proactive and professional SHEQ manager. Here, you will find a unique chance to apply for this SHEQ role, within a dynamic, global market dedicated to excellence in SHEQ practices.

Your responsibilities as SHEQ Manager
  • Manage a diverse SHEQ team of approx. 10 professionals globally.
  • Actively support the SHEQ needs from strategic to operational level within the OHL Management team
  • Coordinate SHEQ team on allocation of projects and ensure the core competencies of SHEQ professionals is at the forefront.
  • Assist with the upgrade of the Boskalis management system within the business specific documentation
  • Ensure compliance with legal and other regulatory requirements, including relevant international conventions.
  • Implement when required Divisional SHEQ initiatives to optimize OHL specific Safety
  • Supporting implementation of SHE-Q policies and objectives within OHL..
  • Ensure NINA and WoW Programs are being implemented effectively and monitored for efficiency.
  • Ensure SHE-Q management information is sufficiently communicated via effective reporting dashboards, KPI's.
  • Oversee and coordinate with project managers on all accident and incident investigations.
  • Project specific pre-qualification and tender support.
  • Developing audit program for internal & supporting external audits and supporting the audit team prepare for upcoming audits.
  • Participate in management visits and execute vessel site visits.

You can make your mark as SHEQ Manager if you have:
  • A mature professional attitude aimed at advancing the business unit for future growth.
  • Proactive individual who challenges the norm and seeks to innovate and improve the way of working within SHEQ.
  • A good communicator and listener, adept at understanding diverse perspectives and articulating ideas clearly to foster collaboration and mutual understanding.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a SHEQ manager, preferably in heavy lifting and the renewables sector.
  • A bachelor's level in integrated safety or similar, such as an advanced safety diploma/NEBOSH or gained by length of service through years of experience.
  • The ambition to be involved with people, projects, and processes.
  • A good command of written and spoken English (and Dutch).

  • Your team: You will work as a SHEQ Manager in the business unit Offshore Heavy Lifting where you manage a team of approx. 10 professionals.
  • Where you will work: You will be working at the Boskalis Campus in Papendrecht and are flexible to travel to project sites and do vessel visits.
  • Full/part-time job: The position of SHEQ Manager is a fulltime job - 40hrs a week.
