Job Objective:
Responsible for implementation of the subsea pipeline and platform structural integrity program for Hilcorp Alaska.
  • Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Implement the platform structural integrity program in accordance with API RP 2SIM.
  • Support implementation of the integrity management programs for subsea pipelines.
  • Act as a technical resource for inspection and repair of platform structures and subsea pipelines.
  • Support data analysis of inspection results including scope development and oversight of follow-up inspection and/or repair activities.
  • Responsible for field implementation of platform structural and subsea pipeline work scopes.
  • Provide field support to Operations, coordinate logistics for equipment and personnel, develop critical materials list and communicate procedures, schedule and progress with affected work groups.
  • Streamline procedures, introduce competition, employ new technologies, and develop innovative contracting and procurement strategies.
  • Identify ways to plan and execute projects more effectively in order to reduce cost, improve quality, and enhance safety.
  • Establish process for procurement and storage of repair and intervention tools.
  • Work with the Projects & Engineering department to ensure effective implementation of subsea projects involving new development, major repairs or replacement.
  • Provide visible leadership and direction to Operations for execution of the platform structural and subsea pipeline integrity scope and visit the project/facility sites frequently.
  • Regularly interact with Asset Teams to understand impacts to operations, ensure programs and processes are in alignment, communicate key metrics and demonstrate value.
  • Develop and manage program documents and procedures in support of the platform structural program and provide training on company processes, as needed. Ensure program is current with industry practice, new technologies, and accepted repair methods.
  • Be able to document and demonstrate the workflow process and associated data management process associated with the platform structural program(s).
  • Document and maintain all records for subsea assets and ensure all activities are completed in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, and industry standards, including DOT/PHMSA, ADEC, and Coast Guard requirements.
  • Interact with external stakeholders as HAK company representative regarding compliance with federal and state regulations and adherence to best practices. Support compliance and external affairs teams in relationships, inquiries, interpretations, and responses to external inquiries.
  • Participate in applicable Incident Management Spill Response Simulations.
  • Coordinate with Environmental and Land Departments to ensure all lease and permitting requirements are met for routine subsea inspection and maintenance work.
  • Work to ensure that all documentation related to area of discipline is retained in the company electronic document management system.
  • Coordinate with Fixed Equipment Integrity, Pipeline Integrity, and Regulatory Compliance teams to develop annual scope of work for completion of inspections.
  • Responsible for preparation of annual budgets, cost tracking and forecasting, scope management, and schedule for projects related to primary scope of work. Hold self and others accountable for accomplishing tasks on time and budget.
  • Accountable for management of contracts with numerous support service contract companies. Provides feedback to contract companies on performance expectations and manages contract spend in alignment with company objectives.

  • Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five (5) years engineering, subsea/marine and/or pipeline inspection and repair experience required, preferably in the oil & gas industry.
  • Competent or familiar in application and use of codes and standards, including: API RP 2SIM, ANSI B31.4, ANSI B31.8, and NACE SP0169
  • Familiar with applicable State and Federal Regulations, including: 49 CFR 192 & 195 and ADEC 18 AAC 75
  • Familiarity with Cook Inlet subsea operations and environment, preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry NDE follow-up inspection techniques and their application, preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use and application of the following software
  • Preferred: Scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Smart Sheet, etc.), AutoCAD
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Exceptional ability at successful project management.
  • Proficient in organization and data management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized and presentable manner.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, professional and solutions-oriented approach with employees, coworkers, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate that s/he can take ownership of the job responsibilities and hold themselves accountable for their successful completion.
  • Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
  • This position requires travel (25% or more, as necessary) to field facilities and other offices, as well as periodic work in outdoor and industrial facility environments, to validate field conditions, provide project oversight, and establish and maintain good working rapport with operations personnel.

  • Education Requirements:
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college OR other equivalent years of experience, specific to subsea and marine asset management
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering Field

  • Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Preferred: NACE CIP-1, CP-1 or PCIM Technician
  • Preferred: API 570
  • Preferred: Professional Engineering License
