WORK LOCATION: MOC
SALARY RANGE: $17.21 - $26.80 / Hour
PAY GRADE: G - Non-Exempt
TYPE OF POSITION: Regular / Full-Time
DAYS WORKED: Monday - Friday
HOURS WORKED: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

JOB DUTIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Performs a variety of routine and complex clerical, secretarial and administrative work in keeping official records, answering phones and providing administrative support to the Generation division.
Works under the direct supervision of the Generation Scheduling and Resource Specialist and assists other associated supervisors within the Generation Division.
Maintain confidentiality in dealing with employee records and business information
Composes types and edits a variety of correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other material requiring judgment as to content, accuracy and completeness.
Receives, stamps and distributes incoming mail, processes outgoing mail.
Answers in-coming calls and routes callers or provides information as required.
Responds to inquiries from employees, and refers, when necessary, to appropriate persons.
Processes payroll for the Generation Division by reviewing, and balancing hours for the payroll division; maintain overtime record for the Union employees.
Coordinate and process travel for the Generation Division in accordance with the City and Electric Department Policies
Secretary for the Safety Committee and Apprenticeship Committee for the Generation Division; attend meetings; compose accurate minutes for review and approval.
Utilizes the City's main computer to assist in the inputting and processing requisitions, receiving and other inquiry functions to provide information to the division.
Maintains and acts as custodian of divisional filing system, EPA files, general correspondence, payroll, purchasing; controls these records using moderate independent judgment.
Schedules appointments, and performs other administrative and clerical duties.
Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the general public.
Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the department and the City.
Manages special divisional projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
This position is subject to the City's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Program. This includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return-to-duty testing, and follow-up testing.
Valid New Mexico driver's license with acceptable driving record for the past three years.
Extensive background checks required.
Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices such as typing, filing, accounting and bookkeeping.
Five (5) years of increasingly responsible related experience, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience. Experience in an electric utility setting with knowledge of applicable terminology preferred.
Typing speed of 40 words per minute, or at a rate sufficient to perform the duties of the job.
High level of knowledge of business English, and business math; some working knowledge of accounting principles and practices helpful.
High level of skills in operation of phone switchboard; mainframe computer terminal; personal computer including Word, Excel, and Access database software; copy machine; fax machine; calculator.
Ability to effectively meet and deal with the public; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to handle stressful situations.
Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, other City departments/divisions, the public, and outside contacts and agencies.
