Your role and responsibilities
This role is part of a global product development group consisting of six agile teams, of which you will take on one or two teams located in Västerås, Sweden. In this role you will have the opportunity to foster a culture of continuous improvement and team empowerment to deliver value to stakeholders. Each day, you will guide your team(s) and facilitate collaboration using agile methodologies and moderation skills, and you will also be an important part of driving agile change with other Scrum Masters. In this role you will be a part of ABB Process Automation's unit Process Control Platform (PCP) that develops automation products - hardware and software - for monitoring, process control and optimization. This role is based in Västerås, Sweden, and reports to the R&D Cluster Lead. Responsibilities in the role include: • Maintaining a good rhythm of business for the team including planning, execution, continuous improvement efforts, and follow-up • Representing the team in discussions with the Product Owner as well as in planning meetings and driving agile practices with other Scrum Masters. • Supporting the team in deciding on the corresponding "how's" of the Product Owner's "what's". • Introducing and fostering agile practices in the team as well as creating and maintaining the team's delivery plan • Coaching team members on agile ways of working and supporting the team in prioritizing work items and improvement initiatives, as well as promoting the importance of quality and supporting the team in how to build high quality software • Working closely with Product Owners to help manage product backlogs and ensure clear communication of the development goals As a Scrum Master in our organization, you'll lead agile teams, empowering them to deliver high-quality software solutions through collaboration, continuous improvement, and agile best practices, while driving agile transformation across the organization. You will be mainly accountable for: • Refinement of the team's backlog and for tasks being assigned to team members • The team's effort estimations and commitments • The team's communication with its stakeholders, including the Product Owner • The team members' capacity and competence being used optimally • The team's continuous improvement and quality standards. Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor's degree (this position is not embedded in the IT environment; we are open for profiles with different backgrounds like psychology, social science, business administration, economics etc.)
- 2-5 years of experience as Scrum Master or in a similar role applying agile principles
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to earn trust while challenging the team to improve and operate outside its comfort zone
- Experience of working with team members from different cultures and geographical locations is considered an advantage.
