Regional Engineering & Technology NCE represents the Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) organisation in the 6+ GW p.a. regional business unit Northern & Central Europe (NCE), including about 30 countries with installed capacity across the spectrum of Sustainable Energy Solutions with On- & Offshore wind at the core. Our main responsibilities centre around technical contracting, technical value engineering, customisation and execution, product integrity, regional product market requirement management as well as regional product lifecycle engineering.

As part of the RE&T NCE, the Siting Solutions team analyses site climatic conditions throughout the value chain of a wind farm and optimises configurations, layouts and operational settings of wind farms for site suitability and performance to deliver best-in-class LCoE for our customers while balancing technical risk and exposure.

You are studying for a Master's degree preferably in the field of engineering, data science or programming (preferably within renewable energy, wind energy, aerodynamics, meteorology or physics).

- Understand customer needs: We ensure that technical bid requirements and project-specific restrictions are understood, offers and contracts comply with country-specific requirements, and we track the relevant interests of key project stakeholders.
- Optimise projects: We optimise performance & cost variables of Onshore & Offshore projects alike to maximize value for all parties, i.e. utilising the Tech Sales, Siting & Power Plant Solutions communities' global practices, processes, and tools.
- Mitigate technical risks: We assess potential technical issues and ensure that all technical assessments align with our procedural framework, cautiously directing the technical aspects of projects to support efficient execution.
- Connect R&D to the market: We feed back into central R&D with techno-commercial market & competitiveness requirements to shape Vestas future product portfolio for the region as well as requirements for the further development of frontline tools & processes.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Functional Lead of Siting Solutions in NCE the responsibilities are various multi-disciplinary tasks supporting the NCE Siting Community with:
- Supporting data science research in wind energy and supporting associated tool development
- Actively contributing to wind farm projects in the sales phase by analysing climatic conditions, estimating energy production and assessing loads
- Interaction and collaboration with central R&D functions
- Various supporting tasks
Qualifications
You are studying for a Master's degree preferably in the field of engineering, data science or programming (preferably within renewable energy, wind energy, aerodynamics, meteorology or physics).
Furthermore, you have:
- Solid background in frontend and backend Python programming
- Theoretical background in wind turbine design, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and wind measurement campaigns
- Practical skills with windPRo, WAsP and a CFD solver (Ellipses 3D, OpenFoam, WindSim)
- Fluency both in verbal and written English
