JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood has upcoming new and exciting opportunities with our clients in Bahrain. We are currently looking for Expression of Interest applications for a Senior Quality Engineer to be based in Bahrain. If you are an experienced Senior Quality Engineer and looking for a new challenge, we welcome you to make an application. Please note this is not currently a live role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in developing the Project Quality Management system by establishing procedures, plans and work instructions as needed.
  • Monitor implementation of the Quality Management System through regular audits and reviews.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring implementation of the Asset Integrity Verification Scheme throughout the Define and Execute Phases.
  • Participate and provide input into technical HSE and integrity reviews.
  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure quality performance in different areas of work development and at various project Phases.
  • Develop and ensure QA and QC requirements are incorporated into Tender Documents, Contracts and Purchase Orders.
  • Monitor and report on compliance and nonconformities and maintain relevant records.
  • Provide guidance to the project team on matters related to QA/QC and support project initiatives to raise the quality awareness amongst project team members, contractors and vendors.
  • Develop and issue quality alerts when there is a need to.
  • Identify and manage risks that could impact achieving quality objectives.
  • Contribute to the annual Management Review.
  • Establish and execute audit and review plans.
  • Follow up corrective actions from audits and reviews and maintain status register.
  • Carry out and facilitate criticality assessment sessions and develop Quality Intervention Plans for procured items.
  • Develop and maintain QA/QC lessons learned register.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional engineer with a broad QA/QC experience in Design, Construction and Project management. Shall be a Graduate Engineer (B.Sc. Eng. / BE/ B Tech.) either in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Welding / Electrical / Instrumentation/Civil engineering as appropriate.
  • Shall have minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in onshore oil and gas facility construction.
  • Shall have management experience in establishment, operation and maintenance of quality management system in accordance with ISO/TS 29001 / ISO 9000 with the capability of developing quality system, quality plans, work procedures and inspection plans.
  • Shall be an IRCA, UK Registered Lead Assessor, ASQ Quality Auditor or equivalent.
  • Shall have sound technical knowledge in materials, welding, coating/painting, NDE inspection and general construction activities. Shall have experience of working to and fully familiar with codes and standards such as from ANSI, ASME, ASTM, API and BS codes used in oil and gas industries.
  • Experience in managing EPC Contractor.
  • Skilled in managing quality requirements during Design, Procurement and Construction.
  • Experienced in reviewing technical documents for quality requirements.
  • Experienced in providing quality inputs to Contract documents, Bids/Tenders/Material requisitions.
  • Able to manage a team of inspectors.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports.
  • Excellent communications and inter-personal / leadership skills are essential.
  • Team player, acting as a champion to break new grounds and self-motivated.
  • Ability to manage the relationship with key stakeholders. Proven track record of result deliveries in challenging project environments.
