Wood has a collaborative maintenance contract with Ampol to deliver leading maintenance and project services at their Lytton Refinery in Brisbane.
We are recruiting for a Hotworks Planning Specialist to join the team at the Refinery - on a permanent basis.
The role is responsible for scoping, designing and coordinating pre-planning activities to ensure that work identified in the work management process requiring engineering, design & management of change are progressed in time to allow for adequate work planning, scheduling and execution.
The role through its expertise, provides backfill coverage support to the area-based maintenance hot works planners and site Welding Inspector.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate closely with engineering, inspections & drawing office to ensure that all technical details and engineering constraints are addressed early in the planning process,
- Complete field scoping and create technical documentation work packages for review by the client, then issue to the area planners in time for detailed work planning,
- Proactively manage RMOC's to address any technical constraints identified during the planning process,
- Attend & participate in the area-based work management meetings to identify scope,
- Provide technical expertise and support to the maintenance planners, ensuring that engineering specifications are accurately interpreted & incorporated into the work plan,
- Ensure that all hot work activities comply with engineering design standards for any work where engineering and maintenance intersect,
- Identify potential technical issues or conflicts between the work plan and engineering requirements, collaborate with both teams to find solutions,
- Provide backfill coverage support to the Area planners and Welding Inspector during periods of extended leave.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ Years' experience within a similar industry or related industry workplace,
- Degree or diploma in Engineering or applicable trade qualification,
- AS1796 and/or AS2214 Welding Supervisor,
- CSWIP 3.1 or IIW IWI B Welding Inspector,
- Previous CMMS experience is highly desirable (SAP),
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills,
- Highly skilled in MS Suite Skills - Word, Excel.
