Job Title: Petroleum Installer

Job Description: Performs responsible and safe construction duties related to removing and installing underground and above ground petroleum storage and dispensing systems. Learns directly from senior installers, project managers, managers and consultants in the field

What You'll Do:
  • 60%: Installs tanks, piping and other equipment and assists in testing after installation. Removes and disposes of old equipment. Maintains a clean and safe working environment at all times. Operates various power tools, skid loaders, air compressors, forklift, and other related tools and equipment in performing described duties.
  • 25%: Learns the trade of petroleum systems installation from Installers, Project Managers and Managers while working in the field. Completes all required training including HAZWOPER40 and LMS-assigned hazard training. Learns to complete all paper work.
  • 10%: Maintains safe operations on every job site by following directions from Installers and managers. Leads by example by donning the appropriate PPE and operating in a safe and efficient manner. Has the authority to stop work on a site if an unsafe practice is observed and is obligated to do so.
  • 5%: Other duties as assigned.
  • Working Conditions: Works in an environment with potential exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, equipment movement dangers, confined spaces, vibrations, dangerous chemical/solvents, electrical shock, and inclement temperature extremes.
  • Physical/Mental Exertion: Ability to perform heavy physical labor exerting up to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis and up to 50 pounds of force on a frequent basis performing such tasks as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and fingering.
What We're Looking For:
  • Education: Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in the petroleum installation field required.
  • Licenses/Certifications: HAZWOPER 40 certification, State-issued CDL-A, State-issued UST installer license.
  • Autonomy/Direction: Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Trains and directs the activities of junior Installers and is required to make quick decisions in the field without management assistance. Must have the ability to travel overnight over 50%.
  • Tools & Equipment: Ability to perform manual construction work and equipment operation as described. Knowledge and experience with computer programs (ProCore, Outlook).
