The Mechanical Piping Foreman is responsible for overseeing and directing the daily operations of mechanical piping projects. This role involves supervising a team of skilled craftsmen and ensuring that all work adheres to specified standards, timelines, and budgets. They will coordinate project execution with the site Superintendent and should have extensive experience in mechanical piping systems, strong leadership abilities, and a keen eye for detail to ensure the successful execution of project objectives. This role reports to the site superintendent through the General Foreman, if assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and direct a piping crew, fabricating and installing all types and sizes of piping, including sanitary tubing, press, grooved and welded systems.
  • Lead a team of skilled craftsmen to ensure adherence to specified standards, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless project integration and execution.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to maintain high standards of workmanship, before assigning a new task.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
  • Develop and foster positive relationships with your crew.
  • Monitor crew progress and adjust as necessary to meet project objectives.
  • Manage resource allocation and ensure efficient use of materials and equipment.
  • Ensure all crew members follow all safety protocols as well as company policies.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, piping, and components
  • Previous journeyman in pipefitting craft
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Able to create isometric details from plan drawings, for crew installation.
  • Proficient in using industry-specific tools and software
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols
  • Excellent organizational skills

Education/Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within the piping sector.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a team effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to addressing mechanical issues
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems, tools, and equipment
  • Experience in project management and planning
  • Proficiency in creating isometric drawings from plan drawings.

Travel Requirements:
  • 100% Field based

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer, phone, printer, scanner, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds
