JOB PURPOSE

The Quality Control Manager oversees the administration and sustainment of the organization's Operational Excellence and Performance System (OEPS) and business excellence programs. They have authority over processes affecting manufacturing/service quality and ensure system integrity across their area of responsibility.

The Manufacturing Quality Control Manager drives manufacturing/service quality in business operations by implementing excellence programs and conducting management system audits to ensure consistency and effectiveness. They also lead or assist in root cause investigations with the Manufacturing team to address quality issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

SAFETY, SECURITY & COMPLIANCE
  • Ensure Ethical & Compliant Operations by upholding corporate governance by adhering to the company's Security, Compliance & HSE policies, Management System, and all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Promotes ethical conduct and compliance with the Company's Rules to Live By.
  • Promote a Strong Safety Culture by prioritizing Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and Environmental protection, ensuring no risk to employees, processes, customers, or communities. Continuously seeks improvement through responsible care, risk assessment, stakeholder input, and best practices. Managers and supervisors are responsible for demonstrating effective safety leadership.

QUALITY
  • Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford's Management System
  • Maintains manufacturing quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement.
  • Establish and maintain QC protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent quality.
  • Develop and conduct training programs for employees on quality standards, inspection processes, and best practices.

OPERATIONS
  • Ensuring Quality & Compliance Oversight by managing the Manufacturing OEPS/API/ISO management system across all locations, ensuring compliance through regular audits, review of reports, and corrective actions. Maintain the integrity of the Management System during process and procedural changes.
  • Monitor risk management procedures, support high-risk process changes, and ensure supplier quality protocols, including critical audits, are in place.
  • Ensure adherence to incident reporting protocols and oversee data quality within the Weatherford Performance Tracking System (WPTS). Continuously analyze QHSE data for trends and report findings to stakeholders.
  • Work with QHSE and other functions to implement new/revised OEPS standards, review client bids/Technical specifications for manufacturing/service quality requirements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
  • Facilitate business unit systems and tools to enhance employee competence and operational efficiency. Provide input on system improvements and opportunities for growth.

COMMUNICATION
  • Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external
  • Supervisors & Managers should clearly communicate expectations, roles and responsibilities to their reports

FINANCIAL
  • All employees have an accountability to the organisation to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses
  • Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure

PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT
  • Employees have a responsibility for developing their own careers within the Company including completing all necessary function, compliance & business standards training to enhance their knowledge, skills and experience
  • Employees are responsible for managing their own career growth by completing necessary training to enhance their skills and knowledge. Regularly engaging with their line manager to discuss performance, objectives, and opportunities for skill development is encouraged.
  • Supervisors are expected to actively engage with employees in performance management, including talent assessments, succession planning, and coaching. They should collaborate with HR and Training Development to implement strategies for recruiting, retaining, and fostering a high-performing workforce.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 10-12 years of experience in quality Control role
  • Root Cause Analysis Incident Investigation Training

PREFERRED
  • Bachelor's or equivalent preferred
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQA; CMQ/OE),CQM, CQE, CQA, CRE, CRMP, Lean and ISO certifications are desired

SKILLS
  • Experience managing International Organization for Standardization (ISO)/American Petroleum Institute (API) management systems
  • Experience managing ISO/API systems and knowledge of Weatherford products, services, and enterprise systems.
  • Strong understanding of budgetary processes, fiscal responsibility, and the ability to manage multiple projects directly or through staff.
  • Ability to define problems, analyze data, and draw valid conclusions from technical, financial, and legal documents.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on creating a positive work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office.
