This position reports to
Research Department Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead multiple teams of Research and Development (R&D) employees in a specific location and support them in achieving the agreed upon R&D targets. Each day, you will manage and develop resources directly and through Team Leads. You will also showcase your expertise by driving technology, platform, and Intellectual Property (IP) management. The work model for the role is #LI-Oniste in Raleigh, NC. You will be mainly accountable for: • Lead and professionally develop a team of highly skilled researchers in power electronics. • Foster a motivating and innovative climate to ensure best performance from team members. • Oversee hiring, competence development, and people management within the department. • Manage resource allocation to ensure timely delivery of projects, intellectual property, and other key performance indicators. • Work with local and global management on project portfolio creation and execution. • Lead discussions on technology focus adjustments and roadmap development. • Provide technical leadership in power electronics, focusing on areas such as power supplies, grid-connected converters, UPS, EV chargers, and motor drives. • Encourage innovation through experimentation, multi-physics simulations, and efficient material utilization. • Drive the development of new technologies and designs in power electronics.

Qualifications for the role
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics, or M.Sc. with equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 10 years of R&D experience in Power Electronics, with at least 5 years in people management.
- Strong knowledge of power electronics technologies and applications.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in international teams and lead projects.
- Familiarity with securing third-party funding and writing proposals
