Position Summary:
  • The Production Controller will be based on-site in our customer's Operations facilities in Norfolk, Virginia Beach working to assist the Offshore Operations on the 2.6GW Coastal Virginia Offshore Service Project.
  • Production Controllers work a shift pattern providing 24/7/365 cover to meet demanding scheduled and often unscheduled site requirements. The role reports into the Deputy Operations Manager on the site.
  • The Production Controller monitors and drives performance of the wind farm, controls access to wind turbines, assists our Global Monitoring team in reactive responses to WTG controls and provides remote support to the Offshore workforce working within the windfarm.
  • The position requires upto 25% travel.
  • Relocation maybe provided for this role, should it be necessary.

Responsibilities:

Safety
  • Assist delivery of Health, Safety and Environmental targets ensuring compliance with, and continuous improvement of, the business management systems and practices
  • Control of safe operations offshore.

Turbine operations
  • Undertake remote monitoring of operational assets, log operational data/events, and communicate and co-ordinate outputs to sites and appropriate stakeholders. Ensure robust shift handover.
  • Work closely with the operational site team to ensure continuous control room services are delivered to assist sites to maintain the highest standards of health and safety, meet production targets, report on key performance indicators and, through data gathering and analysis, improve the integrity and performance of the plant
  • Co-ordinate and communicate wind farm status to the customers representative. This may include communication of planned outages, forced shutdowns, planned works and NERC compliance.
  • Interface with internal teams to generate and provide agreed data and reports in assistance of ongoing operational improvements and projects.
  • Perform remote monitoring and diagnosis of WTG errors to maximize generation and maintain asset integrity
  • Maximize the use of troubleshooting applications, analyze the data, and work in close cooperation with the Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering.

Operations Support
  • Ensure accurate reporting into and utilization of internal database and other associated electronic workflow systems
  • Building of work control packages for top concerns in products under operations
  • Provision of data in assist of the monthly reporting process in conjunction with the Site Manager
  • Remote Start/Stop of Wind Turbine Generators to facilitate safe Service Vessel Approach and Customer access requests
  • Develop daily and weekly emergent work plans and transmittal of emergent work packages to offshore field operations.

Production Controller - The Person:

ESSENTIAL
  • Proven track record in compliance with HS&E policies and procedures
  • Possession of a technical background (engineering, maintenance or operational), combined demonstrable comprehension of commercial issues
  • Strong 'team player' mentality required
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience and capability with systems such as Microsoft Office, Maintenance Management systems, data logging and shift logging systems
  • Strong numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Confidence to make decisions based on incomplete information
  • VHF radio license is a requirement, training would be provided to the successful candidate if necessary.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Candidate should have 1-3 years of experience.
  • Travel schedule, up to 25%.
  • Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver's license at the time of application with an acceptable driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks of their license
