JOB OVERVIEW

Experienced Generator Mechanic needed to maintain, repair, and service diesel-powered generators at commercial facilities including data centers, hospitals, and manufacturing plants. Requires 3+ years hands-on experience with industrial generators (50kW-2MW capacity).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform preventive maintenance on diesel generators (Cummins/Detroit Diesel/Onan/Caterpillar)
• Diagnose/troubleshoot electrical systems (12VDC-480VAC) and fuel injection systems
• Conduct load bank testing and interpret results
• Conduct coolant flush once per year
• Perform fuel sampling to be sent for testing
• Maintain compliance with [NFPA 110/OSHA 1910] standards
• Complete emergency repairs during power outages
• Maintain detailed service records to include daily checklists, loading bank test results and sign offs

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years commercial generator maintenance experience
• Valid driver's license with clean record
• Ability to read electrical schematics/wiring diagrams
• Ability to pass a background and drug screening
• OEM certifications (Cummins PowerSpec/Detroit Diesel DDEC) preferred
• Experience with paralleling gear and switchgear preferred
