The role as Senior Hydropower Planner will be part of the Project Delivery Hydro Redesign and Greenfield unit, which primary responsibility is to oversee and deliver redesign and greenfield hydropower projects. This unit provides project resources, support and quality services in all phases of the project lifecycle.

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Hydropower Planner to enhance our Project Delivery team, focusing on Hydro Redesign and Greenfield initiatives. In this role, you will primarily engage in early-phase project planning and provide essential support throughout the design and construction stages..

As a senior hydropower planner, you will:
  • Manage the hydropower planning process within a highly skilled technical project team
  • Lead and coordinate technical team and work through technical studies.
  • Manage of services from technical consultants and specialists for technical studies.
  • Responsible for the optimization process of concepts and design
  • Responsible for the technical report for concepts and the technical part of the consent and/or permit application
  • Responsible for the pre-dimensioning, initial hydraulic design and power production assessment, concept optimization process and design
  • Provide technical solution cost and execution schedule input to the commercial and business case evaluation
  • Provide technical support in evaluation of project opportunities
  • Implement updates of technical design criteria and standards
  • Support design work and construction activities
  • Quality review and approve technical documentation (drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, etc.)
  • Participate in continuous improvement work and in developing best practice for the portfolio of hydropower development opportunities
  • Contribute to enhancing capabilities in hydro power planning.

Qualifications

We look for an experienced engineer with essential skills within hydropower, which includes:
  • Master of Engineering within civil engineering and hydropower planning.
  • More than 15 years' experience in project development, planning and construction of hydropower plants including rehabilitation
  • Experience in design and/or construction of underground works
  • Project design hydrology and hydraulic background and experience with hydropower pump storage is considered a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to drive team and create results
  • Strategic, conceptual, structured, creative, pro-active and solution-oriented team builder
  • Excellent communication skills in Norwegian/Swedish and English

The ideal candidate will demonstrate high ethical standards and a strong focus on Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE). Additionally, they should possess excellent communication skills and be proficient in both a Scandinavian language and English, with fluency in speaking and writing
