As part of the Turbine Module engineering team, the Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the design and analysis of gas turbine components for new units & upgrades. Additionally, the Mechanical Design Engineer's responsibilities may include qualifying hardware for new factory introductions and supporting hardware production; supporting and performing root cause analysis and preventative/corrective action activities; performing and supporting ideation and execution activities associated with multi-year agreements; reducing cost and adding value to our products through product cost out and value engineering.
The Mechanical Design Engineer also ensures that hardware will meet product and design requirements, by working closely with the Controlled Title Holders, Heat Transfer, Manufacturing, and Sourcing Teams on component and subsystem optimizations. These responsibilities provide opportunities for both analytical and hands-on work.

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, The base pay range for this position is $79,400.00 - 119,000.00 USD per year.
The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 5% performance bonus.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
This position will stay open on the career website until at least 5/26/25.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute the design or evaluation of assigned hardware using sound engineering practices and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
- Participate and present in formal and informal technical reviews for all design tasks and output with Controlled Title Holders, following the documented NPI and RCA Processes.
- Maintain broad awareness of efforts within the team to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs.
- Communicate technical issues within Turbine Module team and as well as with interfacing organizations such as Clearances, Aerodynamics, Heat Transfer, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Suppliers, Materials Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Customer Service Engineering.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering / Science from an accredited college or university.
- Candidates should have 1-3 years of relevant experience.

- Edison Engineer; Completion of LPX, Teardown Training; Progress toward completion of Engineering Master's degree and/or ACE Certificate
Additional Information
- This role will accommodate progress toward completion of Engineering Master's degree and/or B-Course project; Limited travel/overtime required; One hour a week per credit hour (maximum 6 hours per week) can be vouchered.
