Wood is hiring a highly motivated and skilled Oilfield Multi-Skilled Operator II in Kermit, TX. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient and safe operation of our oilfield assets. This position requires hands-on experience in monitoring and maintaining production equipment, ensuring the optimal performance of wells, and adhering to safety protocols. This is a Safety Sensitive position and requires strict adherence to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards. Most responsibilities will be performed at the well site via a company-provided vehicle. Wood offers health benefits, 401K, vacation, and more. The Role
The Oilfield Multi-Skilled Operator II is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing oilfield production equipment and systems. This includes troubleshooting, data entry, regulatory compliance, and emergency response. The role requires a high level of technical knowledge, safety awareness, and the ability to work in varying field conditions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical responsibilities
• Monitor and maintain production equipment and well performance
• Perform inspections and troubleshoot issues with wells, tanks, meters, and compressors
• Gauge tanks and manage crude oil and water transfers
• Operate and troubleshoot compressors, gas lift wells, and flowback equipment
• Maintain chemical injection systems and perform well start-up/shut-in
• Enter and validate production data in databases
• Conduct facility walk-throughs, MOCs, and PSSRs
• Complete regulatory tasks and update P&IDs and site diagrams
• Respond to alarms and emergencies as needed
• Ensure compliance with all HSE policies and procedures
• Operate and maintain a wide range of oilfield equipment and tools
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills And Qualifications
Expected:
• Minimum 3 years of direct oilfield experience with mechanical skills
• Experience with inspection, maintenance, and repair of oilfield equipment
• Ability to work in extreme weather and remote locations
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet insurability standards
• Ability to climb heights, lift, bend, and use hand tools
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and be on call
• Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
Desirable:
• Associate degree or trade certification in Production or Process Technology
• Experience with SCADA systems and data entry
• Familiarity with oilfield terminology and production practices
• 1+ year experience in HSE-focused environments
