Wood is recruiting for an Oilfield Multi-Skilled Operator II to join its Operations team focusing on Oil & Gas. This opportunity is in Kermit, Texas working an 8 Days On / 6 Days Off rotation and 10 hours per day.
The Role
Location: Kermit, Texas
Remote/Onsite Site-based
Hours: 10 hours per day
Schedule: 8 Days On / 6 Days Off
The Oilfield Multi-Skilled Operator II is responsible for monitoring and maintaining production equipment, optimizing well performance, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols in a field-based environment. The role requires strong mechanical skills, experience with oil and gas production operations, and the ability to work independently while accurately recording production data. Familiarity with a wide range of oilfield equipment and a commitment to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards are essential.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient and safe operation of our oilfield assets. This position requires hands-on experience in monitoring and maintaining production equipment, ensuring the optimal performance of wells, and adhering to safety protocols. This is a Safety Sensitive position and you are required to adhere to the commitment of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE). You will perform most of your responsibilities at the well site via a company-provided vehicle. Wood offers health benefits, 401K, vacation and more. RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical Responsibilities
- Access remote locations to check wells, maintain normal operating levels, pressures, and flow on separation equipment
- Inspect gas and oil wells, tanks, meters, separators, compressors, and piping for leaks or unusual conditions and take corrective actions
- Gauge tanks for sale or transfer of crude oil and water
- Operate and troubleshoot rental compressors, flowing gas wells, gas lift wells, sand traps, and flow back equipment
- Maintain chemical injection rates, start up, and shut in wells
- Enter production data into computer databases and review outputs for accuracy
- Execute new facility walk-throughs, MOCs, and PSSRs
- Perform regulatory tasks including agency testing, change of status, and tank/meter numbering
- Update P&IDs and site security diagrams for new wells and facilities
- Respond to alarms after hours or when on call
- Implement all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of direct experience requiring mechanical skills
- Experience in use, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment
- Ability to perform physical tasks and operate equipment and machinery
- Willing and able to:
- Work in temperature extremes or adverse weather
- Travel across multiple geographic locations in a single day
- Work in and out of a provided vehicle
- Wear appropriate PPE
- Climb up to 24 feet to gauge tanks
- Walk, bend, stoop, lift, push, and pull
- Use hand tools for minor repairs
- Work weekends, holidays, and be on call
Desirable:
- Associate degree or trade certification in Production or Process Technology
- 1+ year experience in HSE-focused environments
- 1+ year experience with oil and gas production practices and equipment
- Proficiency in computer data entry and SCADA systems
- Ability to respond to visual and auditory alarms and instructions
- Clean driving record meeting insurability standards
