QUALIFICATIONS
Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant trade certificate (e.g. Cert III in Engineering, Mechanical, Fabrication or welding)
- 3-5+ years' experience in heavy industrial or smelter environments
- Australian recognised Trade Qualification/s
- Strong background in brownfield industrial environments, ideally in aluminium smelting, metal refining, or similar process industries.
- Advanced skills and knowledge necessary to isolate, diagnose, analyse and rectify complex equipment related problems
- Previous experience with permit to work processes within hazardous areas.
- Proven ability to follow and imbue good HSE principles and behaviours.
- Proven ability to work within a team.
- Personnel located within the Portland Region, or greater western Victoria is considered advantageous
- Great communication skills (written and verbal)
- Exposure to working with Work Area Permit Systems
- Computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID, drawings and isometric
- Working at heights
- Confined space
- High attention to safety, quality and team collaboration
