POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Performs repairs, rebuilds, and overhauls of major components and assemblies on motor generators, automobiles, buses, trucks, and tractors. Responsibilities include replacing worn or damaged parts and conducting routine maintenance such as checking and replacing fluids, lubricants, and filters as needed. Proficiency with standard mechanical tools-including hand, power, and pneumatic tools-is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must have demonstrated satisfactory skills and performance as an Automotive/Generator Mechanic. A minimum of three years of progressive experience in the field is required, or alternatively, successful completion of a two-year resident course at a vocational institute or a recognized apprenticeship program. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL); an active CDL is highly desired. The selected individual will be subject to a security background investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Must be willing to perform cross-functional duties as needed. May require overtime and weekend work based on operational demands.
