This Position reports to:
Design Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB's success with technology, product, and system development as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.

The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybrid

This role is electronics designer to develop control electronics at High Power division's R&D organization in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki. You will join a team of talented electronics designers. You are responsible for defining, designing, and testing electronics systems for frequency converters. Your special focus area is IGBT gate drivers. Your title and exact role are depending on your work experience and expertise.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Working in a R&D team to develop frequency converter electronics circuits and systems from idea to production within agreed schedule
• Testing and proofing the functionality and reliability of the designed circuits
• Contributing to system design and testing
• Understanding and applying applicable processes, standards, guidelines, and requirements, including architectural and design constraints
• Driving the achievement of assigned targets (quality, time, scope, cost) and raising and addressing risks
• Working in a safe way and creating safe products

Qualifications for the role

• It is essential that you have theoretical background and design experience of analog and digital electronics and printed circuit board design, minimum 3 years
• Knowledge of IGBT gate drivers and frequency converter main circuits is highly appreciated
• MSc or PhD degree in Electronics is essential
• You are at ease communicating in English
• You hold current work permit for Finland
