Verify dimensional accuracy of shafts, impellers, housings, seals, couplings, and other mechanical components using a wide range of precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, height gauges, thread gauges, surface roughness testers, etc.).

Inspect welds, surface finishes, coatings, and assemblies to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.

Confirm alignment, fit-up, and balance requirements of rotating components.

Measurement & Testing

Interpret and apply engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T requirements for complex components.

Conduct functional and performance checks as required (e.g., run-out, concentricity, shaft straightness, impeller blade angle verification).

Use advanced tools such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) or portable measuring arms when applicable.

Documentation & Compliance

Accurately document inspection results in quality control logs, inspection reports, and QMS systems.

Issue non-conformance reports (NCRs) for parts or assemblies that do not meet specifications and ensure proper segregation of non-conforming material.

Review supplier certifications and material test reports (MTRs) to verify compliance with company and industry standards.

Proficiency in using a broad range of precision measuring instruments (manual and digital).

Strong knowledge of mechanical inspection methods, GD&T, and engineering drawing interpretation.

Familiarity with inspection of welds, surface finishes, coatings, and mechanical assemblies.

Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems; experience with API, ASME, or other industry standards is a plus.

Competence with QMS software and Microsoft Office for documentation.

Soft Skills

Effective communication with production, engineering, and quality teams.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong organizational skills to manage multiple inspections and priorities.
