At Weatherford, we are seeking a skilled QC Inspector to test and inspect products at various stages of the production process, primarily in-process and final inspection. The QC Inspector will compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of our products. This role is critical in ensuring our commitment to delivering exceptional products and services to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Select products for testing at specified stages in the production process, and test products for various qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical or chemical characteristics
- Record test data, applying quality control procedures
- Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards
- Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within equipment capabilities
- Set up destructive and non-destructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics. Perform Non-destructive testing (UT and/or WMPI) under NDE level II supervision
- Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for analysis
- Develop knowledge of inspector skills as in Inspection Employee Skills
- Assist in training Inspector I class
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job
Requirements
- 3-5 years of prior training as a Quality Inspector or a Machinist
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos in English
- Ability to follow oral instructions
- Ability to interpret engineering material specifications and assess material test reports against specifications
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and instructions
- Physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to read common measuring devices, tapes, micrometers, calipers, etc
- General knowledge of products and processes
- Certified NDE UT and/or MPI level 1
- Ability to work closely with fellow employees
