Civil Site Inspector

Your role within the team:

As a part of our Construction Auditing team, you will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

• Act as the Client representative in the field to inspect and verify Electrical utilities construction performed by Contractors.
• Review Contract documents and project specific plans and monitor Contractor compliance to these documents.
• Verify construction is built as per IFC drawings and Client specifications, using approved materials only.
• Prepare daily site reports with photos of daily field activities, track construction progress and maintain a deficiency register.
• Verify construction activities comply with Contractor's QA/QC plan and in accordance with the ITP.
• Monitor Contractor safety performance and report any deviations from Contractor's H&S Plan or violations of OHSA regulations.
• Monitor environmental performance and report any violations/deviations from the Contractor's Environmental Management Plan (EMP) or environmental regulations.

The ideal candidate:

• Graduated from a Civil/Structural Post-Secondary Engineering or Technical program. Civil P Eng. Preferred.
• Past Construction, Utilities, Site Supervision, and/or Inspection experience (minimum 10 years).
• Extensive experience in Buildings construction and/or Electrical Utilities Construction of Transmission lines structural foundations or HV Station projects would be favorable.
• Past experience working in remote areas of the province is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario Construction Regulations and ability to interpret Design drawings and Standards.
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills as well as proficiency with MS Office.
• Self-accountable, with the ability to work independently and prioritize deliverables on time.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons of the year and flexible on working hours (nights/weekends).
