City of Hope is seeking an experienced HVAC Facilities Mechanic with background in healthcare, commercial, and/or industrial settings. As a successful candidate, you will:
- Independently perform complex repairs on HVAC systems and related components.
- Troubleshoot HVAC issues that impact patient care areas, prioritizing critical services.
- Perform diagnostics and advanced repairs on Air-handlers, Package units, VFDs, and BMS-controlled equipment.
- Respond to service requests and work orders for patient care areas, labs, and support departments.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building HVAC systems & components.
- Document work in the CMMS/Nuvolo system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Balance and calibrate airflow, hydronic, and pressurization systems to meet patient care requirements.
- Manage critical environments (ORs, isolation rooms, pharmacies under USP 797/800).
- Experienced with troubleshooting BMS controls (Siemens, Climatec, Trane, etc.).
- Oversee vendor-performed maintenance on large scale air-handlers, fan walls, mini splits, package units.
- Ensure regulatory compliance for HVAC systems (temperature, humidity, pressurization logs).
Your qualifications should include:
- High School Diploma required. 4 additional years of experience plus the minimum experience requirement may substitute for minimum education (College or Trade school preferred).
- 5 or more years applicable crafts experience. At least 2 years experience in HVAC, electrical, autoclave, locksmith, plumbing, advanced carpentry, or advanced painting trades.
- Certification or demonstrated proficiency in 3 or more trades. At least one trade must include HVAC, electrical, autoclave, plumbing, locksmith, advanced carpentry, advanced painting. Other eligible trades include carpentry, painting, Maintenance Repair Rounds (MR.R) or automotive mechanics.
- Trade certification preferred.
- Excellent communications skills in working with clinical staff, leaders, and vendors.
- Current CA driver's license and a good driving record.
