JOB DESCRIPTION

The Electronic Technician plays a critical role in ensuring equipment functionality, operational safety, and mentoring junior technicians. This position requires strong technical proficiency, adaptability, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. The Electronic Technician builds and installs equipment on coil tubing units, snubbing units, workover rigs, and frac sites. This role requires technical expertise, adaptability, and a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

Build new specialty equipment and perform function tests at the facility.

Troubleshoot and perform necessary electrical repairs on malfunctioning equipment both at the facility and on-site.

Provide troubleshooting support for electronic communications, including computer and software issues.

Program software parameters for PLCs, routers, switches, and other programmable equipment.

Lead or participate in safety meetings, hazard hunts, and ensure Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) are followed.

Report unsafe acts, conditions, or hazards immediately.

Review and follow job policies, procedures, and supervisory instructions.

Work independently and assist other employees as directed.

Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to read, write, and speak English to follow and issue instructions.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.

Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations (whole numbers, fractions, decimals).

Extensive knowledge of sensors and transducers used in oilfield electronics.

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for electronic systems.

Understanding of district goals and ability to contribute to achieving them.

Bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Must be 21 years of age or older.

Valid state-issued driver's license with eligibility to drive a company vehicle per company policy.

Certificate of completion from an accredited technical/trade school in electronics repair, troubleshooting, or diagnostics OR 5+ years of relevant electronics repair experience.

Experience in the Oil & Gas industry with knowledge of oilfield equipment.

Associate's degree in computer electronics.

Travel international and domestic is required
