We are seeking a Senior Planner - Federal Planning to join our Planning and Environment Practice. This position may be located anywhere near an AtkinsRéalis office in the United States.

How will you contribute to the team?
Under general direction, provides technical expertise to deliver planning projects throughout the assigned area of responsibility and/or companywide. May function as lead planner, project manager, or technical consultant. Work will involve master planning for military, federal, and state organizations in the United States and for its worldwide partners. Tasks will primarily include work related to master planning, programming, planning charrettes, real property management, facility utilization, and land planning with occasional utility assessment, transportation, and environmental projects.
We expect you to contribute to the growth, leadership, and professionalism of the federal planning team and the company. You will provide guidance and mentorship to more junior staff. We want to hear about new ideas, better processes, critical thinking and ways the team can improve.

Expected compensation range is between $100,000 - $160,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.

Responsibilities include:
- Lead a team of interdisciplinary staff (e.g., engineers, architects, cost estimators, GIS professionals) on many of the projects.
- Develop documentation, conceptual, and schematic planning designs for facility layouts.
- Conduct meetings with clients and facilitates charettes.
- Define scope of project, with full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating planning projects, including participating in negotiations with clients.
- Monitor work progress and conformance to technical standards and regulations.
- Manage planning projects for budget compliance, deadlines, and quality control.
- Travel expectations for this position average about one week of travel per month (12 weeks/year).
The ideal Candidate will have any of the following:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning, or a related field. Master's or graduate level, technical coursework is preferred; this may be achieved by Planners with at least ten years' experience since a Bachelor's degree or at least sixyears since a Master's.
- AICP certification is required. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or a willingness to obtain PMP, is desirable.
- Ability to lead planning charrettes.
- Knowledge of the facility requirements analysis process.
- Experience with military installations and infrastructure
- Experience working with the U.S. military departments or a former military service member is strongly desired
