Function Description

As an Offshore Safety Officer, you will be responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe working environment on offshore vessels. You will oversee health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance, conduct inspections, monitor work permits, lead safety drills, support incident investigations, and ensure all activities follow international offshore safety standards. This role requires strong knowledge of HSE procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and proactive during emergency situations.

Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and documentation:
Mandatory Certifications & Training

• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC)
• OPITO BOSIET (including HUET with CA‑EBS)
• Valid Offshore Medical (OGUK or ENG1)
• H2S Awareness & Breathing Apparatus Training
• Sea Survival Training

Additional Required Competencies

• Gas Tester certification
• GWO, Working at Height & Confined Space training
• Firefighting & First Aid/CPR
• Strong understanding of PTW (Permit‑to‑Work) systems, toolbox talks, risk assessments, and incident reporting

Documentation & Compliance

• Valid passport and offshore work authorization
• Seafarer's Book (for vessel-based roles)
• Drug & alcohol clearance

Experience

• 2-5 years of HSE experience in offshore, marine, drilling, or heavy industrial environments
